FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 20, 2023

TO:
Honorable Robert Nichols, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB2200 by Hancock (Relating to public acknowledgment of donations made to the Texas Department of Transportation.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 201.206, relating to donations and contributions to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for carrying out its functions, and authorize TxDOT to enter into an agreement with a donor to publicly acknowledge donations made to the department. The bill would authorize TxDOT to post acknowledgement of a donation to the roadside assistance and safety service patrol program on a vehicle or equipment TxDOT uses for the program.

Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the department's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
