TO:
Honorable Harold V. Dutton, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues

IN RE:
SB2548 by Middleton (Relating to the procedures for the removal of certain children in the managing conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would prohibit the department from moving a child who has been placed in the home of a parent without a court order after proper notice and a hearing except in certain situations.

It is assumed any costs to the Office of Court Administration and the Department of Family and Protective Services could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
