Pursuant to a notice posted on April 27, 2023, and an announcement on April 27, 2023, the House Committee on Community Safety, Select met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the acting chair, Representative Landgraf, at 6:46 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Guillen; Johnson, Jarvis; Bowers; Burrows; Dorazio; Goodwin; King, Tracy O.; Landgraf; Moody; and Troxclair.

A quorum was present.

The chair directed that the April 18, 2023 minutes for the House Committee on Community Safety, Select be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

HB 1894

The chair laid out HB 1894 as pending business.

Representative Troxclair moved that HB 1894, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion failed by the following record vote:
