Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 5, 2023, and permission granted on May 5, 2023, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Smith, at 4:36 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Smith; Bucy; Burrows; Capriglione; DeAyala; Manuel; Morales, Eddie; Swanson; and Vo.

A quorum was present.

SB 1933

The chair laid out SB 1933.

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

The chair moved that SB 1933, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Smith; Burrows; Capriglione; DeAyala; Swanson (5).

Nays:                           Representatives Bucy; Manuel; Morales, Eddie; Vo (4).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        None (0).

SB 1807

The chair laid out SB 1807 as pending business.

The chair moved that SB 1807, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Smith; Burrows; Capriglione; DeAyala; Swanson (5).

Nays:                           Representatives Bucy; Manuel; Morales, Eddie; Vo (4).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        None (0).

At 4:38 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
