Pursuant to a notice posted on June 3, 2024, the House Committee on Elections met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Smith, at 10:00 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Smith; Bucy; Burrows; Capriglione; and DeAyala.
A quorum was present.
The Chair made opening remarks.

The Committee took invited testimony on the implementation of relevant legislation passed by the 88th Legislature including:
Senate Bill 1070, relating to the interstate voter registration crosscheck program.

Senate Bill 1750, relating to abolishing the county elections administrator position in certain counties.
Testimony taken/registration recorded. (See attached witness list.)
The Committee took invited testimony on Texas election law relating to ballot secrecy and those tasked with administering and monitoring this process.

At 12:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
