CORRECTED MINUTES
On May 8, 2023, the House Committee on General Investigating authorized the correction of the minutes for the meeting of the House Committee on General Investigating held on May 1, 2023. The following are the corrected minutes for that meeting:
Pursuant to a notice posted on May 1, 2023, the House Committee on General Investigating met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Murr, at 10:01 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Murr; Johnson, Ann; Geren; Longoria; and Spiller.
A quorum was present.
Without objection, the committee entered into executive session under Subchapter B, Chapter 301, Government Code, the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, the Housekeeping Resolution, and the committee’s rules.
The committee exited the executive session. No decisions were made or voted on during the executive session.
Representative Geren offered the following motion in writing:
Mr. Chairman:
Pursuant to Committee Rule 9, I move the following in connection with MATTER B:
(1) The committee determines that, as alleged in this matter, reasonable cause exists to believe that the respondent violated a house rule, the housekeeping resolution, or house policy by engaging in inappropriate workplace conduct; and
(2) The committee sets MATTER B for a due process hearing, to be held on Thursday, May 4, at a time designated by the chairman.
The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Murr; Johnson, Ann; Geren; Longoria; Spiller (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: None (0).
At 11:57 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
