Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 8, 2023, and permission granted on May 1, 2023, to meet while the House was in session for the remainder of the session, the House Committee on General Investigating met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Murr, at 2:02 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Murr; Johnson, Ann; Geren; Longoria; and Spiller.

A quorum was present.

Without objection, the committee entered into executive session under Subchapter B, Chapter 301, Government Code, the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, the Housekeeping Resolution, and the committee’s rules.

The committee exited the executive session. No decisions were made or voted on during the executive session.

The chair directed that the May 1, 2023 minutes for the House Committee on General Investigating be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

At 2:42 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 4:30 p.m., May 8, 2023.

The committee reconvened at 4:33 p.m. and was called to order by the chair, Representative Murr.

The quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Murr; Johnson, Ann; Geren; Longoria; and Spiller.

A quorum was present.

Without objection, the committee entered into executive session under Subchapter B, Chapter 301, Government Code, the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, the Housekeeping Resolution, and the committee’s rules.

The committee exited the executive session. No decisions were made or voted on during the executive session.

At 5:02 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
