Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18, 2023, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Kuempel, at 2:20 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Kuempel; Paul; Bucy; Burns; Burrows; Clardy; Cole; González, Mary; Howard; Lalani; and Raney.

A quorum was present.

SB 18

The chair laid out SB 18.

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

The chair moved that SB 18, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Kuempel; Paul; Burns; Burrows; Clardy; Raney (6).

Nays:                           Representatives Bucy; Cole; González, Mary; Howard; Lalani (5).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        None (0).

At 2:21 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
