Pursuant to a notice posted on May 10, 2023, the House Committee on Public Education met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Buckley, at 8:03 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Buckley; Allen; Allison; Harris, Cody; Harrison; Hefner; King, Ken; Longoria; Schaefer; and Talarico.

A quorum was present.

Chairman Buckley made opening remarks.
