Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 2, 2023, and permission granted on May 2, 2023, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Public Health met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Klick, at 4:45 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Klick; Campos; Collier; Jetton; Johnson, Ann; Jones, Jolanda; Jones, Venton; Oliverson; Price; Smith; and Tinderholt.

A quorum was present.

SB 14

The chair laid out SB 14, the Senate companion to HB 1686.

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

The chair moved that SB 14, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Klick; Jetton; Oliverson; Price; Smith; Tinderholt (6).

Nays:                           Representatives Campos; Collier; Johnson, Ann; Jones, Jolanda; Jones, Venton (5).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        None (0).

At 4:47 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
