Pursuant to a notice posted on February 24, 2023, and permission granted on March 1, 2023, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Ashby, at 8:03 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Ashby; Martinez; Morrison; Collier; Bailes; Holland; Flores.

A quorum was present.

(Representative Garcia now present.)

(Representative Troxclair now present.)

The committee met for organizational purposes and heard testimony from the Texas Historical Commission, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Commission on the Arts, Texas Economic Development and Tourism Office, State Preservation Board, and Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

At 9:45 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned

subject to the call of the chair.
