Pursuant to a notice posted on July 11, 2024, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hunter, at 9:03 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Hunter; Hernandez; Anchía; Geren; Guillen; Metcalf; Raymond; Slawson; Smithee; Spiller; Thompson, Senfronia; and Turner.
A quorum was present.

HB 9, relating to the development and funding of broadband and telecommunications services.

HB 1500, relating to the continuation and functions of the Public Utility Commission of Texas and the Office of Public Utility Counsel, and the functions of the independent organization certified for the ERCOT power region; increasing an administrative penalty.
