Pursuant to a notice posted on July 6, 2023, and permission granted on July 5, 2023, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Sustainable Property Tax Relief, Select Study met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Meyer, at 11:05 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Allison; Burrows; DeAyala; Howard; Lopez, Janie; Noble; Raymond; Shine; Turner; Citizens Johnson, Cheryl; Livingston, Brad; and Miller, Don "Skeeter".

A quorum was present.

The Chair made opening remarks.

The committee met to hear invited testimony only on methods to reduce the tax burden of appraisal increases on all real property in Texas.
