Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 2, 2023, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Meyer, at 12:25 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Gervin-Hawkins; Hefner; Muņoz, Jr.; Noble; Raymond; Shine; and Turner.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

HB 5

 

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure, as substituted, was reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

The chair laid out HB 5, as substituted.

 

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the committee substitute for HB 5 was adopted.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Shine offered an amendment to the committee substitute.

 

The amendment was adopted without objection.

 

The chair directed the committee clerk to incorporate the amendment into the committee substitute.

 

Representative Shine moved that HB 5, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Gervin-Hawkins; Hefner; Muņoz, Jr.; Noble; Raymond; Shine; Turner (11).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        None (0).

 

At 12:26 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
