Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 12, 2023, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Meyer, at 8:15 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Hefner; Noble; Raymond; Shine; and Turner.

A quorum was present.

SB 3

The chair laid out SB 3.

Representative Thierry offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

Representative Thierry moved that SB 3, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Hefner; Noble; Raymond; Shine; Turner (9).

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representatives Gervin-Hawkins; Muñoz, Jr. (2).

SJR 3

The chair laid out SJR 3.

Representative Raymond offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

Representative Raymond moved that SJR 3, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Hefner; Noble; Raymond; Shine; Turner (9).

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representatives Gervin-Hawkins; Muñoz, Jr. (2).

At 8:19 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
