Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on July 12, 2023, and permission granted on July 11, 2023, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Meyer, at 1:35 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Gervin-Hawkins; Hefner; Noble; Raymond; and Shine.

A quorum was present.

SB 2

The chair laid out SB 2.

Representative Thierry moved that SB 2, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Gervin-Hawkins; Hefner; Noble; Raymond; Shine (9).

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representatives Muñoz, Jr.; Turner (2).

The chair laid out SB 3.

Representative Button moved that SB 3, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Meyer; Thierry; Button; Craddick; Gervin-Hawkins; Hefner; Noble; Raymond; Shine (9).

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representatives Muñoz, Jr.; Turner (2).

At 1:37 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
