Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Border Security was held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

Senator Pete Flores called the meeting to order at 9:01 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Phil King and Senator Juan Hinojosa.

Senator King moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Flores called the following agency representatives to provide invited testimony on the following agencies: the Department of Public Safety, the Texas Military Department, the Office of Court Administration, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (see attached witness list).

There being no further business, at 10:34 AM Senator Flores moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
