Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Monday, February 6, 2023, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:06 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

Senator Huffman made opening remarks. 

Senator Huffman laid out SB 1.

Testimony was heard on SB 1 – Article III.  Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Senator Huffman resumed the chair.

Windham School District

Public testimony was heard.

Invited testimony continued.

Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.

Senator Huffman resumed the chair.

Optional Retirement Program

School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

Public testimony was heard.

Senator Huffman closed public testimony.

Senator Huffman moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 5:14 PM Senator Huffman moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
