Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Local Government was held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in the Extension Auditorium, E1.004.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:39 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

The Senate Committee on Local Government will meet to hear invited testimony only on the following Special Session agenda item: Legislation concerning public safety, security, environmental quality, and property ownership in areas like the Colony Ridge development in Liberty County, Texas.

There being no further business, at 12:39 PM Senator Bettencourt moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
