The committee will meet to hear invited testimony only on the following interim charges:
Monitor the agencies and programs under the Committee’s jurisdiction.
· Department of Family and Protective Services(DFPS) agency status update
Monitor and oversee the implementation of relevant legislation passed by the 88th Legislature. Conduct active oversight of all associated rulemaking and other governmental actions taken to ensure the intended legislative outcome of all legislation, including the following:
· HB 1575, relating to improving health outcomes for pregnant women; and · SB 24, relating to the powers and duties of the Health and Human Services Commission and the transfer to the commission of certain powers and duties from the Department of Family and Protective Services.
Evaluate access to Home and Community-based Services (HCS) waivers, including the interest list, effects of inflation on the cost of services, and availability of services and service providers. Consider the long-term stability of long-term services and supports in waiver programs and consider alternative delivery models.
