R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Terrill A. Cover of
  San Antonio were deeply saddened by his passing on June 5, 2025, at
  the age of 78; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Kathryn and Oliver Cover, Terry Cover was
  born on April 8, 1947, and he grew up with the companionship of two
  sisters, Brenda and Krista; he and his family lived in Germany for a
  time before settling in Windcrest, and he graduated from
  Sam Houston High School; he went on to attend San Antonio College
  and Texas State University and eventually earned a master's degree
  and superintendent certificate; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cover enjoyed a fulfilling, decades-long career
  in education that included coaching at several schools and serving
  as principal of Leon Valley Elementary School and as athletic
  director at Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School; he was recognized
  as an honorary lifetime member of the Texas PTA, and he was also a
  member of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors
  Association and the National Association of Elementary School
  Principals; and
         WHEREAS, Valuing family above all else, Mr. Cover shared a
  rewarding marriage with his wife, Maria Elena Reyes-Cover, that
  spanned 46 years, and he took great pride in their children, Larissa
  and Ryan; in his leisure time, he enjoyed running marathons,
  painting nature scenes, reading about history, building model
  ships, and going on road trips, as well as fishing and watching
  football; in all his endeavors, he drew strength from his Catholic
  faith, and he served as a Eucharistic minister and taught the Rite
  of Christian Initiation of Adults; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Terry Cover
  will remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth,
  kindness, and generosity, and he will forever hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Terrill A. Cover and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn
  his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Terry
  Cover.
