R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Assistant Chief Ronald "Joe" Clapp is retiring from
  the Denison Police Department on July 31, 2025, concluding nearly
  37 years of dedicated service to his community; and
         WHEREAS, A proud Denison native, Joe Clapp joined the Denison
  Police Department in October 1988, and he distinguished himself in
  the roles of patrol officer, sergeant, and lieutenant before being
  promoted to assistant chief of police in 2003; over the course of
  his career, he has earned the respect of his fellow law enforcement
  professionals and area residents alike, and he was honored with the
  Patrol Officer of the Year award from the local VFW chapter in 1996;
  and
         WHEREAS, Chief Clapp has demonstrated a strong commitment to
  professional development, graduating from the FBI National Academy
  in 2004, earning his master peace officer certification in 2006,
  and obtaining an associate's degree in criminal justice technology
  in 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Through his outstanding skill, professionalism, and
  leadership, Joe Clapp has furthered the Denison Police Department's
  mission of serving and protecting the public, and he may indeed
  reflect with pride on his many achievements as he embarks on the
  next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Assistant
  Chief Ronald "Joe" Clapp on his retirement from the Denison Police
  Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Chief Clapp as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
