R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and productive life drew to a close with the
  passing of Robert Barrett of San Antonio on June 25, 2025, at the
  age of 94; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Adolph and Anna Maria Barrett, Robert
  Barrett was born in San Bernardino, California, on August 6, 1930;
  he served his country in the United States Air Force and embarked on
  a career in the insurance industry; in 1956, he became the first
  Hispanic commercial insurance agent in Bexar County, and that same
  year, he formed his own agency; his integrity and professionalism
  earned the admiration of innumerable people; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Barrett benefited his community in a number of
  leadership roles; he served as chair of the Westside YMCA, Westside
  Optimist Club, and Inman Christian Center; a member of the
  San Antonio Economic Development Corporation, he was appointed to
  the board of the Concentrated Employment Program; he was also
  secretary of the San Antonio Good Government League and a troop
  leader in the Boy Scouts of America; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Barrett was the proud
  father of five children, Mario, Cynthia, Daniel, Michael, and
  Robert; in later years, he was blessed with five grandchildren,
  Daniel, Haley, Zachary, Elizabeth, and Zara, as well as two
  great-grandchildren, Amelia and Andrew; and
         WHEREAS, Although Robert Barrett is deeply missed by those he
  left behind, his dedication to his family and his community will
  remain a source of inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to
  know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  Robert Barrett and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his children, Mario Barrett and his wife, Billie,
  Cynthia White, Daniel Barrett, Michael Barrett and his wife,
  Miranda, and Robert Barrett; to his grandchildren, Daniel and his
  wife, Naomi, Haley, Zachary, Elizabeth and her husband, William,
  and Zara; to his great-grandchildren, Amelia and Andrew; to the
  mother of his children, Hermencia Barrett; to special people in his
  life, Tony Rios and his wife, Melinda, and Elaine Guajardo; and to
  his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
  Barrett.
