R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Kent Monroe Wattinger of
  Marble Falls suffered an immeasurable loss with his passing on July
  8, 2025, at the age of 36; and
         WHEREAS, While their vehicle was being swept away by
  floodwaters in Liberty Hill, Mr. Wattinger summoned the strength
  and courage to push his wife, Samantha, toward the riverbank, where
  she was able to pull herself to safety; though he succumbed to the
  floodwaters, his heroic sacrifice on that fateful day will forever
  be remembered; and
         WHEREAS, Born on July 25, 1988, Kent Wattinger was raised by
  his mother, Kimmie Lynch, and his grandparents; as a child, he
  cherished time spent in 4-H with his grandmother, and as a young
  man, he enjoyed playing in bands with his friends; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Wattinger and his first wife, Rebecca, became
  the proud parents of a daughter, Violet; after that marriage ended,
  he was fortunate enough to find love again with his second wife,
  Samantha, and he had the pleasure of seeing his treasured family
  grow to include two more children, Hunter and Zoey; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of a rewarding career in the
  technology industry, Mr. Wattinger rose through the ranks to become
  a software development engineer at Amazon Robotics; an active
  member of Wind Therapy Freedom Riders, he was the national safety
  division president and the ATX chapter president; through this
  organization, he and his wife attended many charity rides, benefit
  events, and outreach efforts to support first responders, law
  enforcement officers, and veterans; and
         WHEREAS, Although Kent Wattinger is deeply missed, memories
  of his quiet strength, his infectious humor, and his devotion to his
  family remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
  Kent Monroe Wattinger and extend deepest condolences to the members
  of his family: to his three children, Violet, Hunter, and Zoey; to
  his wife, Samantha Wattinger; to his mothers, Kimmie and Carla
  Lynch; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kent
  Wattinger.
