R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A caring and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Irene Kaye Michna of Taylor on July 14, 2025, at the age
  of 81; and
         WHEREAS, Irene Michna was born to Vernon and Justene Walton
  on January 14, 1944; she began her career as an operator with the
  Southwestern Bell Telephone Company before becoming a realtor with
  Taylor Properties and McMakin & Associates; she later worked as an
  agricultural clerk for the Williamson Central Appraisal District;
  and
         WHEREAS, Valuing family above all else, Mrs. Michna was
  devoted to her husband, Johnnie Michna, who preceded her in death,
  and to her children and their spouses, Buddy and Monee Michna,
  Ronnie and Tracey Michna, Randy and Carla Michna, and Shanna and
  Clayton Holder; with the passing years, she was blessed with eight
  grandchildren, Allison, Ashlyn, Amber, Liberty, Sarah, Brayden,
  Rylee, and Chance, and four great-grandchildren, Ryder, Emmersyn,
  Paxton, and Kash; her life was further enriched by her many
  godchildren and her beloved dogs Apache Duke and Cheyenne; and
         WHEREAS, Active in the Taylor community, Mrs. Michna gave of
  her time and talents to such worthy organizations as the Old
  Settlers Association of Williamson County, the Taylor Main Street
  Advisory Board, the Taylor Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and
  the Williamson Museum, and she helped revive the Taylor
  International Barbecue Cookoff; a woman of faith, she was a
  longtime congregant of First Baptist Church in Taylor; along the
  way, she received numerous honors, including two Taylor Press
  Reader's Choice Volunteer of the Year Awards; and
         WHEREAS, Irene Michna possessed a generosity of spirit that
  expressed itself in myriad ways, and she enriched the lives of
  countless people with her warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Irene Kaye Michna and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn
  her passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Irene
  Michna.
