R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Woodlawn Lake Park Swimming Pool in San Antonio is
  celebrating its 100th anniversary with an event on July 25, 2025;
  and
         WHEREAS, Located in the neighborhood originally known as
  West End Lake, Woodlawn Lake Park Swimming Pool officially opened
  on July 25, 1925, attracting hundreds of visitors; originally built
  without shade or dressing rooms, the natatorium had cost an
  estimated $30,000 to construct, and water was pumped into the pool
  from a nearby artisan well; stone bathhouses were constructed in
  the 1930s by the Civil Works Administration, and additional
  improvements have since been made, including the addition of tube
  slides, canopies, and other amenities benefiting pool-goers; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, the Woodlawn pool has hosted a
  number of community events, such as high school swim meets and water
  aerobics and Zumba classes, and it has continued to be a popular
  gathering place for area residents; today, the 250-by-50-foot
  rectangular pool remains the second-largest and third-oldest
  municipal pool in San Antonio; managed by the City of San Antonio
  Parks and Recreation Department, the pool and surrounding park will
  receive further upgrades in the coming years due to a recent $3.25
  million grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior; and
         WHEREAS, For the past century, Woodlawn Lake Park Swimming
  Pool has served as a sanctuary for relaxation and recreation for
  generations of San Antonio residents, and it is indeed a pleasure to
  join in recognizing this beloved community institution on this
  special milestone in its history; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 100th
  anniversary of Woodlawn Lake Park Swimming Pool and extend to all
  those taking part in the celebration sincere best wishes for a
  meaningful and memorable event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation
  Department as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of
  Representatives.
