R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Aristoi Classical Academy has been named Best |
|
Charter School in the Houston Chronicle's 2025 Best of the Best |
|
list; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1996 as West Houston Charter School, |
|
Aristoi Classical Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school |
|
that offers a liberal arts education to students in kindergarten |
|
through 12th grade; over the years, the academy has grown to |
|
encompass two campuses in Katy and one in Cypress, and enrollment |
|
has increased to more than 1,500 learners; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through its classical curriculum, Aristoi strives |
|
to foster in its students a love of learning and a drive to become |
|
responsible members of society; following the natural stages of a |
|
child's intellectual development, the school organizes instruction |
|
into the three stages, grammar, logic, and rhetoric, with the goal |
|
of teaching students to listen carefully, reason critically, |
|
communicate clearly, and write persuasively; and |
|
WHEREAS, A majority of Aristoi's high school students have |
|
achieved mastery on State of Texas Assessments of Academic |
|
Readiness, and they have also earned high marks on the Preliminary |
|
SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test; the academy is ably |
|
led by superintendent Jonathan Mueller; and |
|
WHEREAS, By creating learning environments that promote |
|
positive values and personal growth, Aristoi Classical Academy is |
|
providing its students with an educational foundation that will |
|
serve them well throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Aristoi |
|
Classical Academy on being named Best Charter School in the Houston |
|
Chronicle's 2025 Best of the Best list and extend to all those |
|
associated with the school sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the academy as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
