R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt by
  the family and friends of Sarah Blakely McCrory of Houston, who
  passed away on July 4, 2025, at the age of 8; and
         WHEREAS, This precious girl was born in Houston on April 10,
  2017, to Lindsey McCrory and the late Blake McCrory, who died in
  March 2025; Blakely possessed a mischievous sense of humor, and she
  once stashed her pet box turtle inside her mother's purse; she
  shared a special bond with her older brother, Brady, and she dreamed
  of becoming a veterinarian so that she could care for cattle on her
  grandfather Pat McCrory's farm; and
         WHEREAS, A student at Memorial Lutheran School, Blakely
  belonged to the American Heritage Girls, the Texas Society Children
  of the American Revolution, and St. Martin's Episcopal Church; she
  demonstrated her theatrical talent with The Spotlight Project; and
         WHEREAS, At the time of her death, Blakely was attending Camp
  Mystic, a Christian summer camp where her mother also spent time as
  a youth; the camp's activities suited Blakely's adventurous spirit,
  and she had become a proud member of the Tonkawa tribe; she was
  known as a leader who encouraged those around her, and her tragic
  passing in the Texas Hill Country floods has inspired an outpouring
  of prayers and support from the community at large; and
         WHEREAS, Although her days were far too few, Blakely McCrory
  was a ray of light in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to
  know her, and she will forever hold a special place in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Sarah Blakely McCrory and extend profound condolences to the
  members of her family: to her mother, Lindsey McLeod McCrory; to her
  brother, Brady Sullivan McCrory; to her uncles, Pat McCrory Jr. and
  his wife, Johnnie, Cole McCrory and his wife, Sherri, and Mark
  McCrory; to her grandfathers, Pat McCrory Sr. and E. Douglas McLeod
  and his wife, Joan; to her aunts, Alexandra Blazevich and her
  husband, John, Joanie McLeod, Sara McLeod, Meg Janek and her
  husband, Craig, and Libbie Ansell and her husband, Bill; to her
  great-aunt, Dorothy MacInerney, and her husband, Buddy; to her
  great-uncle, John Helms; and to her many other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Blakely
  McCrory.
