R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and Ronald Paul Werner of Taylor marked that
  special milestone on June 26, 2025; and
         WHEREAS, Ron Werner was born in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1935;
  his father passed away when he was a young child, and he and his two
  siblings were raised by their loving mother, Ruth; he earned a
  degree in industrial engineering from Memphis State University in
  1958; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined the U.S. Army
  and served as a combat engineer and missile specialist at Fort
  Bliss; after concluding his enlistment, he remained in El Paso,
  where he met the love of his life, the former Pat Ray, during a group
  picnic at Hueco Tanks; the couple were engaged a week later and
  married on December 27, 1961; over the years, they have been blessed
  with two children, Janet and Stanley, and three grandchildren,
  Axel, Peyton, and Bradley; and
         WHEREAS, During the early 1960s, Mr. Werner worked as a
  designer at the Kerr-Ban Furniture plant in Taylor; he later
  decided to attend dental school, and he and his family lived with
  his mother for five years while he completed his studies; in 1972,
  they returned to Taylor, where he established his own dental
  practice; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Werner has been
  involved in numerous civic organizations, including parent-teacher
  associations, study clubs, and church groups; he is also a longtime
  supporter of the Republican Party and has served as a precinct chair
  and poll watcher; in addition, he was a member of the Taylor
  Independent School District board of trustees for 18 years; his
  honors include recognition as Citizen of the Year by the local
  Rotary Club in 1983; and
         WHEREAS, Ron Werner has witnessed a panorama of change over
  the course of nine decades, and he has met life's challenges and
  opportunities with dignity and grace, earning the deep admiration
  of all who are privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Ronald Paul
  Werner on the occasion of his 90th birthday and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Werner as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
