R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of American Legion Post No. 667 in Universal |
|
|
City are gathering together on September 20, 2025, to celebrate the |
|
|
post's 50th anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The American Legion has built a proud tradition of |
|
|
serving military personnel, families, and communities throughout |
|
|
the country; with more than 1.6 million members, the organization |
|
|
is a leading advocate for veterans and active duty service members; |
|
|
in addition, it provides vital support for the U.S. armed forces and |
|
|
strives to instill the values of responsible citizenship among |
|
|
young people; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, First chartered in 1975, Post No. 667 has furthered |
|
|
the mission of the American Legion through its dedicated work in |
|
|
northeastern Bexar County; the group's wide-ranging initiatives |
|
|
have made a positive difference in the lives of area veterans while |
|
|
focusing public attention on the heritage and achievements of the |
|
|
United States military; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Universal City Post No. 667 have |
|
|
contributed to the exceptional legacy of the American Legion, and |
|
|
they are performing a valuable service through their ongoing |
|
|
efforts to benefit their community and all those who have valiantly |
|
|
served our nation in the armed forces; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 50th |
|
|
anniversary of American Legion Post No. 667 and extend sincere best |
|
|
wishes to its members for continued success with their important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the post as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
