R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The first annual Galveston Pickleball Championship |
|
|
took place on July 26, 2025; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Organized by Trevor Gwynne, the tournament was held |
|
|
at the McGuire-Dent Recreation Center, where 34 teams competed for |
|
|
the championship title in single-elimination doubles rounds; the |
|
|
winning squad received a trophy and new pickleball paddles while |
|
|
earning considerable bragging rights; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In recent years, pickleball has grown into an |
|
|
increasingly popular activity for individuals of all ages across |
|
|
the Lone Star State, and the Galveston Pickleball Championship is |
|
|
poised to become a beloved community tradition; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the first |
|
|
annual Galveston Pickleball Championship and extend sincere |
|
|
appreciation to all those who helped bring the event to fruition. |
