R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, David Sauer retired as assistant superintendent of
  the Mineola Independent School District in May 2025, drawing to a
  close three decades of outstanding service in public education; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Sauer began his career as a high school teacher
  in Canton, where he worked for seven years before becoming an
  assistant middle school principal in Van; he subsequently completed
  a five-year tenure as assistant principal of Mineola Middle School,
  and he later led Mineola Primary School as principal; he went on to
  serve as principal of Mineola High School for seven years, earning
  recognition as the Region 7 Principal of the Year for the 2015-2016
  school year; and
         WHEREAS, In 2020, Mr. Sauer assumed his duties as assistant
  superintendent of Mineola ISD; in that role, he guided the
  district's participation in the state's Teacher Incentive Allotment
  program, which awarded $500,000 to Mineola educators; his
  successful implementation of TIA garnered statewide attention, and
  he plans to continue assisting with the program in retirement; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Sauer holds a bachelor's degree from The
  University of Texas at Arlington and a master's degree in education
  from The University of Texas at Tyler; an active member of the
  Mineola community, he has served as a deacon at New Hope Baptist
  Church and as a board member for both the Kiwanis Club of Mineola
  and the Rotary Club of Mineola; and
         WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence, David Sauer has greatly benefited the
  students of Mineola ISD and earned the lasting respect and
  admiration of his colleagues, and his contributions to the district
  will be remembered and appreciated for years to come; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby congratulate David Sauer on his retirement
  as assistant superintendent of the Mineola Independent School
  District and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Sauer as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
