R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, David Sauer retired as assistant superintendent of |
|
the Mineola Independent School District in May 2025, drawing to a |
|
close three decades of outstanding service in public education; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sauer began his career as a high school teacher |
|
in Canton, where he worked for seven years before becoming an |
|
assistant middle school principal in Van; he subsequently completed |
|
a five-year tenure as assistant principal of Mineola Middle School, |
|
and he later led Mineola Primary School as principal; he went on to |
|
serve as principal of Mineola High School for seven years, earning |
|
recognition as the Region 7 Principal of the Year for the 2015-2016 |
|
school year; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 2020, Mr. Sauer assumed his duties as assistant |
|
superintendent of Mineola ISD; in that role, he guided the |
|
district's participation in the state's Teacher Incentive Allotment |
|
program, which awarded $500,000 to Mineola educators; his |
|
successful implementation of TIA garnered statewide attention, and |
|
he plans to continue assisting with the program in retirement; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sauer holds a bachelor's degree from The |
|
University of Texas at Arlington and a master's degree in education |
|
from The University of Texas at Tyler; an active member of the |
|
Mineola community, he has served as a deacon at New Hope Baptist |
|
Church and as a board member for both the Kiwanis Club of Mineola |
|
and the Rotary Club of Mineola; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to excellence, David Sauer has greatly benefited the |
|
students of Mineola ISD and earned the lasting respect and |
|
admiration of his colleagues, and his contributions to the district |
|
will be remembered and appreciated for years to come; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st |
|
Called Session, hereby congratulate David Sauer on his retirement |
|
as assistant superintendent of the Mineola Independent School |
|
District and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Sauer as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
Senate. |
