SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 9
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  James Kyle
 
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close on
  January 6, 2025, with the passing of Dr. James Wayne Kyle of
  Carthage at the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Kit Carson Kyle Sr. and Berta Elizabeth
  Hooker Kyle, James Kyle was born in the Woods community of Panola
  County on October 26, 1932, and he grew up with the companionship
  of four siblings, Murph, Gwendolyn, Kit, and Grady; a member of
  the Class of 1950 at Carthage High School, he graduated from
  Panola College two years later, and he went on to earn his doctor
  of veterinary medicine degree from Texas A&M University in 1956;
  and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Kyle exchanged vows with the former Mildred
  Evelyn "Milly" Williamson on July 12, 1958, and the couple shared
  a fulfilling marriage that spanned 56 years until her passing;
  they became the parents of three children, Kelly, Riley, and Kit,
  and through the decades, the family grew to include two
  grandchildren, Cameron and Daniel, and one great-grandchild,
  Alister; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of a long and rewarding career in
  veterinary medicine, Dr. Kyle established the Kyle Animal Clinic
  and the Shelby Veterinary Center, and he was active in many
  professional organizations; in 2008, he received the
  Distinguished Career Award from the Texas Veterinary Medical
  Association, and in 2013, he was named an Outstanding Alumnus of
  the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at TAMU;
  and
         WHEREAS, Engaged in his community, Dr. Kyle served on the
  Carthage Independent School District Board of Trustees for more
  than 36 years, and he was a founding board member of the Carthage
  ISD Education Foundation; he was also active in the Carthage Noon
  Lions Club, the Panola County A&M Club, and the Panola County
  Cattlemen's Association; a man of faith, he was a devoted
  congregant of First Methodist Church, where he was involved in
  the Loyal Sons Sunday school class and the Chancel Choir; and
         WHEREAS, While the passing of James Kyle brings great
  sadness to his family and friends, he has left behind a legacy
  that will long be treasured by all those who held him dear; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Dr. James Wayne Kyle and extend sincere condolences to all who
  mourn his passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Dr. James Kyle.
