R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Robert Darrell Jones of Hideaway, who passed away on February 1,
  2025, at the age of 90; and
         WHEREAS, The son of James Robert Jones and Hallie Mae Hibbitt
  Jones, Darrell Jones was born on December 14, 1934, in Mesquite;
  following his graduation from high school in 1953, he attended
  Southern Methodist University; he went on to enjoy a successful
  career as a sales representative in the furniture and supply
  industry, and in 1971, he started his own business, Darrell Jones
  and Associates; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Jones benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, the former Mary Lou Pollard, with whom
  he shared a fulfilling marriage that spanned nearly seven decades;
  he took great pride in their daughters, Luanne and Jennifer, and
  with the passing years, he had the pleasure of welcoming into his
  family four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A man of strong faith, Mr. Jones was involved in his
  church; he also served as a Mason and a Shriner, dedicating his time
  to transporting children in need of medical care to hospitals;
  during his leisure hours, he enjoyed traveling with his wife in
  their motor home throughout the United States and Canada; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his kindness, his wisdom, and his
  devotion to his family, Darrell Jones lived a full and generous
  life, and he will forever hold a special place in the hearts of
  those he has left behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Robert Darrell
  Jones and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
  his wife, Mary Lou Jones; to his daughters, Luanne Fassett and her
  husband, Byron, and Jennifer Grounds and her husband, Ron; to his
  grandchildren, Mallory Rix and her husband, Jason, Brayden Fassett
  and his wife, Louisa, Ryan Grounds, and Jordan Grounds; to his
  great-grandchildren, Savannah Barkheimer, Jaxson Grounds, Myles
  Grounds, Samuel Fassett, and Benjamin Fassett; to his
  sister-in-law, Myra Low, and her husband, Larry; and to his other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Darrell Jones.
