R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Jean Louise Swanson Pfaff of Mineola on March 8, 2025, at |
|
the age of 92; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Superior, Wisconsin, on March 13, 1932, the |
|
former Jean Swanson was raised by her grandparents; she was a proud |
|
graduate of Superior High School; and |
|
WHEREAS, She exchanged vows with Kenneth Lyndon Pfaff, and |
|
the couple shared a rewarding marriage that spanned 55 years before |
|
his passing in 2009; they became the proud parents of 4 children, |
|
Cathy, John, Rob, and Todd, and through the years, she had the |
|
pleasure of seeing her family grow to include 9 grandchildren and 12 |
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, After moving to Texas, Mrs. Pfaff devoted her time |
|
to being a homemaker and to operating the myriad family businesses |
|
that she established with her husband, including enterprises in |
|
orthopedic sales, property development, and meat processing; |
|
always ready to lend a helping hand, she assisted cancer patients |
|
with transportation to their appointments, volunteered at various |
|
schools, and regularly welcomed those in need into her home; a woman |
|
of faith, she gave generously of her time as a Sunday school teacher |
|
and in other capacities at a number of churches in Dallas and East |
|
Texas; in her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Jean Pfaff will be deeply missed, those who |
|
held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she |
|
brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st |
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jean Louise |
|
Swanson Pfaff and extend sincere condolences to her relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Jean Pfaff. |
