R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of George Edward Caldwell of Tyler on April 4, 2025, at the
  age of 88; and
         WHEREAS, The son of George and Evelyn Caldwell, George
  Caldwell was born on September 24, 1936, and he grew up with the
  companionship of a brother, Robert, and two sisters, Jeanette and
  Frances; he graduated from Tyler High School and went on to attend
  Tyler Junior College; answering his nation's call to duty, he
  served honorably in the United States Army; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Caldwell enjoyed a rewarding career in the
  newspaper and hospital industries, and he retired in 2003; his many
  interests included motorcycles, baseball, and football; above all
  else, he cherished time spent with his family and his Boston
  terrier, Buddy, and he looked forward to his monthly lunches with
  his former high school classmates; he was also a man of strong
  faith; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Caldwell benefited from
  the love and support of his wife, Linda, his son, Eddie, and his
  daughters, Kathy and Pamela; through the years, his family grew to
  include five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a
  great-great-grandson; and
         WHEREAS, George Caldwell enjoyed a life that was rich in the
  intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those
  who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of George Edward
  Caldwell and extend deepest condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Linda Caldwell; to his son, George Edward
  Caldwell Jr., and his wife, Lisa; to his daughters, Kathy Caldwell
  Ramsey and Pamela Pegram, and her husband, James; to his
  grandchildren, Melissa Anderson, Taylor Hopper, Tera Lorance,
  Tyler Caldwell, and Taylor Caldwell; to his great-grandchildren and
  great-great-grandson; and to his other relatives and friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of George Caldwell.
