R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of William Eugene Cole Jr. of Atlanta, who passed away on
  May 11, 2025, at the age of 96; and
         WHEREAS, The son of William Eugene Cole and Fannie Mae Cole
  Phillips, Bill Cole was born on October 15, 1928, in Miami, Florida,
  and he grew up with the companionship of five siblings, Norman,
  Margie, Leon, Troy, and Shirley; and
         WHEREAS, On December 16, 1950, Mr. Cole married the former
  Alverta Knocke, and the couple was blessed with three children,
  Judy, Randy, and Larry; after that marriage ended, he was fortunate
  enough to find love again with his second wife, Joyce; with the
  passing years, he saw his treasured family grow to include five
  grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of his career in the oil and gas
  industry, Mr. Cole worked for Shell Oil Company, Aramco, and
  Halliburton; he also was a cattle rancher for many years, and he
  coached Little League baseball; in his leisure time, he took
  pleasure in attending Atlanta Rabbits football games and playing
  cards and dominoes; a man of faith, he was a member of First Baptist
  Church Atlanta; and
         WHEREAS, Bill Cole enjoyed a life that was rich in the
  intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those
  who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of William Eugene
  Cole Jr. and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Joyce; to his children, Judy Cole Cook and her
  husband, John, and Randy Cole; to his grandchildren, Stephanie Cole
  Rink, Lance Cole, Cody Cole, Katie Kotzur, and Stephanie Cook
  Perry; to his great-grandchildren, Harper Rink, Jaywan Cole, and
  Jonah Kotzur; to his siblings, Leon, Troy, and Shirley Phillips;
  and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Bill Cole.
