R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Barbara Harris Tolleson of Longview on June 8, 2025, at
  the age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Panola County on April 22, 1938, to Grady
  Harris and Syble Pitts Harris, the former Barbara Harris attended
  school in Tenaha and Houston before her family moved to Longview in
  1950; after graduating from Longview High School in 1955, she
  enrolled at the BMI Business Institute and worked as a secretary;
  she later rose to become a top salesperson at JCPenney, and she
  served as a beauty consultant with BeautiControl cosmetics; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Tolleson enjoyed the love
  and support of her husband, Joe, with whom she shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned 46 years; she took great pride in her son,
  Kenneth, and her daughter, Kimberly, as well as her stepsons, John
  and Joe, and her treasured family eventually grew to include 11
  grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of profound faith, Mrs. Tolleson was a
  longtime member of Mobberly Baptist Church; she took pleasure in
  attending the school events of her grandchildren and such hobbies
  as home decorating, traveling, cooking, and crocheting; and
         WHEREAS, Barbara Tolleson led a life of caring devotion to
  her loved ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will
  forever live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Barbara Harris
  Tolleson and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
  to her husband, Joe V. Tolleson; to her children, Kenneth Taylor and
  Kimberly Taylor Davis and her husband, Jamie; to her stepsons, John
  D. Tolleson and his wife, Ginette, and Joe D. Tolleson and his wife,
  Susan; to her sister-in-law, Judy Stanley and her husband, Larry;
  to her grandchildren, Karrie, Ryan, and Nicole Taylor, Taylor Gray,
  Allison Gentry, DeAnna and Chris Davis, and Trent, Trey, Kate, and
  Jack Tolleson; to her great-grandchildren; and to her other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Barbara Tolleson.
