R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Ronald Davis Denney Sr. of Marshall on July 16, 2025, at
  the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, Ronnie Denney was born in Marshall on October 13,
  1932; answering his nation's call to duty, he served in the United
  States Air Force during the Korean War; he subsequently returned to
  Marshall and established his own business, Denney's Cleaners; he
  took great pride in his work and formed lasting bonds with his loyal
  customers; and
         WHEREAS, On October 6, 1951, Mr. Denney exchanged vows with
  Jacquelyn Hartley, and the couple shared a rewarding marriage that
  spanned more than six decades, before her passing in 2013;
  Mr. Denney took great pride in their children, Cheryl and Ronald,
  and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family
  grow to include five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and
  two great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Denney was a valued member
  of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served as a lay reader for
  many years; in his leisure hours, he enjoyed playing golf and
  tennis; his other hobbies included operating ham radios, building
  and flying model airplanes, and ballroom dancing with his wife; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his devotion to his family, his
  generosity of spirit, and his joyous zest for life, Ronnie Davis
  enriched the lives of all who knew him, and they will forever hold
  him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ronald Davis
  Denney Sr. and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his daughter, Cheryl Denney; to his grandchildren,
  Chrystal Osborn, Jackie Colvin, Hartley King, Kristi George, and
  Everette Denney; to his great-grandchildren and
  great-great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Ronnie Denney.
