R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Patricia Haney Parks of Longview on April 5, 2025, at the
  age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Lucille Marshman Haney and James
  Curtis Haney, Patricia Parks was born on November 19, 1941, in
  Harrisburg, Illinois; she attended Palestine High School and
  continued her education at Henderson County Junior College; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Parks worked for the dean of engineering at
  Texas A&M University early in her career, and after moving to
  Longview, she went on to enjoy successful tenures with Vertex
  Communications and Stemco; a woman of faith, she was a founding
  member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, and she was a valued
  congregant of First Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist
  Church; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Parks drew strength from
  the rewarding marriage that she shared with her husband, Lyndon
  Parks, and she took great pride in her children, Kimberly, Keisha,
  Keith, and Kyle, and her stepchildren, Lysa and Lance; with the
  passing years, she had the pleasure of seeing her family grow to
  include six grandchildren, Jacob, Lyndon, Joseph, James, Morgan,
  and Hanna; and
         WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured
  woman's love and friendship will always remember her with great
  admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Haney
  Parks and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her husband, Lyndon Parks; to her daughters, Kimberly Ann Johnson
  and Keisha Thomas DiGiovanni and her husband, Marcel; to her
  stepchildren, Lysa Parks and Lance Parks and his wife, Connie; to
  her grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Patricia Parks.
