R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Glenda Joan Gordon Long of Kilgore on July 13, 2025, at
  the age of 83; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Gus and Lucille Coy Gordon, the
  former Glenda Gordon was born in Longview on December 23, 1941, and
  she enjoyed the companionship of four siblings, Charley, Wayne,
  Terry, and Loy; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Long was the proud mother of two daughters,
  Leslie and Gussie, and over the years, her cherished family grew to
  include 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3
  great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong congregant of the Pentecostal Church,
  Ms. Long grew up with a strong sense of community and spirituality;
  a talented musician, she brought joy to those around her when she
  played the piano; she also had a fondness for birds, and she took
  pleasure in searching for unique finds at yard sales; and
         WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured
  woman's love and friendship will always remember her with great
  tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Glenda Joan
  Gordon Long and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of her
  family: to her dear companion, Frutoso Moreno; to her daughters,
  Leslie Sowell and her husband, Anthony, and Gussie Perez; to her
  brother, Charley Gordon, and his wife, Kathy; to her grandchildren,
  Angela Olvera and her husband, Alex, Billy Huffman, Crystal Melim
  and her husband, Robert, Brooke Duncan, Joanna Bellah and her
  husband, Bradley, and Calelan Perez and her husband, Timothy; to
  her great-grandchildren, Shy Taylor, Ricky Pineda, Kylee and Mila
  Olvera, Ava, Kennedy, and Easton Melim, and Laney, Nathan, and
  Haley Duncan; to her great-great-grandchildren; and to her other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Glenda Long.
