R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Marie Dusek of Tyler on June 16, 2025, at the age of 90;
  and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Vivian LaPeyre Todd and Walter Lee
  Todd Sr., the former Marie Todd was born in Tyler on July 2, 1934,
  and she grew up with the companionship of a brother, Walter; she
  graduated in 1951 from Tyler High School, and she went on to attend
  Tyler Junior College, where she was a member of the Apache Belles;
  after her graduation, she completed her education at Sam Houston
  State Teachers College in 1955; and
         WHEREAS, She exchanged vows with Dan Dusek on October 29,
  1955, and the couple shared a fulfilling union that spanned six and
  a half decades until his passing in 2021; Mrs. Dusek took great
  pride in their two children, Dennis and Debbie, and with the passing
  years, she had the pleasure of seeing her treasured family grow to
  include four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Dusek enjoyed a rewarding career as a home
  economics teacher at both Tyler High School and Tyler Junior
  College; she later opened Country Bear Antiques with her husband,
  and the couple conducted estate sales and operated booths at
  various venues; a woman of strong faith, she was a valued member of
  First Christian Church of Tyler; and
         WHEREAS, Although Marie Dusek will be deeply missed, she has
  left her family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will
  forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Marie Dusek and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  children, Dennis Dusek and his wife, Missy, and Debbie Holman and
  her husband, John Braunschweig; to her son-in-law, Tony Holman; to
  her grandchildren, Maggie Holman, Taryn McDonald and her husband,
  Drew, and Devin and Ryan Dusek; to her great-grandchildren; and to
  her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Marie Dusek.
