R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Joe Jean Murray of Texarkana on May 24, 2025, at the age
  of 84; and
         WHEREAS, Joe Murray was born in Bradley, Arkansas, on
  July 14, 1940; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined the
  United States Marine Corps Reserve and honorably served for 30
  years; and
         WHEREAS, After returning to civilian life, Mr. Murray enjoyed
  a long and rewarding career as a state trooper with the Texas
  Department of Public Safety; he held a deep appreciation for
  nature, and he was an avid outdoorsman and hunter; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Murray shared a fulfilling marriage with his
  wife, Virginia, that spanned more than six and a half decades before
  her passing; he took great pride in his sons, Coy and David, and
  over the years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to
  include six grandchildren, Joe, Candace, Michael, Craig, Caleb, and
  Lindsey, and seven great-grandchildren, Kash, Sailor, Saige,
  Conrad, Hattie, Saoirse, and Ryland; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his integrity, his adventurous spirit,
  and his devotion to his family, Joe Murray lived a caring and
  purposeful life, and he leaves behind a record of service that his
  loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Joe Jean Murray
  and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  sons, Coy Murray and his wife, Wendy, and David Murray and his wife,
  Kim; to his grandchildren, Joe Steven Murray, Candace Ann Murray,
  Michael Cargile, Craig Murray, Caleb Murray, and Lindsey Upton; to
  his great-grandchildren, Kash, Sailor, and Saige Forga, Conrad,
  Hattie, and Saoirse Murray, and Ryland McAllum; and to his other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Joe Murray.
