R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Roscoe Daryll Bennett
  of Henderson were deeply saddened by his death on April 27, 2025, at
  the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Roscoe Jerald Bennett and Annie Loveta
  Bridges Bennett, Daryll Bennett was born in Oak Hill on April 14,
  1948, and he grew up with the companionship of eight siblings,
  Latricia, Edwin, Melvin, Homer, Drucilla, Sandra, Barbara, and
  Wanda; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bennett graduated from Texas Tech University
  Law School in December 1983, and he went on to enjoy a rewarding
  legal career that spanned 42 years; he especially took pride in his
  work as a defense attorney in criminal jury trials, and he earned a
  sterling reputation for his passionate and skillful representation
  of his clients; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Bennett benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, Gayle, with whom he shared a
  fulfilling marriage that spanned nearly five and a half decades; he
  was devoted to his six children, Holly, Kate, Katya, William,
  Nicholas, and Joshua Bennett, who preceded his father in death; he
  was further blessed with eight grandchildren, Peyton and Emily
  Scogin, Quentin Moon, Eden and Elissa Warr, and Jackson, Ava, and
  Eli Bennett; and
         WHEREAS, During his leisure hours, Mr. Bennett took great
  pleasure in cooking meals for his family and friends using fresh
  vegetables from his garden, and he held a deep appreciation for the
  land and cattle in Oak Hill; moreover, he was an avid poker player;
  above all else, he treasured time spent with his loved ones, and he
  was known to entertain guests with his own renditions of the songs
  "Amazing Grace" and "House of the Rising Sun"; and
         WHEREAS, Daryll Bennett lived a life that was rich in
  personal and professional achievements, and he will forever be a
  source of inspiration to those he left behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Roscoe Daryll
  Bennett and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Daryll Bennett.
