R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
  generosity of Bobby Ray Moyers of Gladewater, who passed away on
  May 31, 2025, at the age of 89; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Roy Wesley and Pearl Moyers, Bobby Moyers
  was born in Wilkins on March 10, 1936, and he grew up with the
  companionship of a sister, Ada; answering his nation's call to
  duty, he served in the U.S. Air Force and the National Guard; and
         WHEREAS, On June 18, 1961, Mr. Moyers exchanged vows with the
  former Kathryn Ilene Penick, and the couple shared a fulfilling
  marriage that spanned nearly 64 years; they became the proud
  parents of two children, Kevin and Connie, and over the years, their
  cherished family grew to include 8 grandchildren and 15
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Moyers enjoyed a rewarding 69-year career as a
  barber; he also was active in his community, regularly working the
  concession stand at Friday night football games and lending his
  time to the Gladewater Rodeo; a man of faith, he served as an elder
  at the North Loop Church of Christ; in his leisure time, he took
  pleasure in fishing and being outdoors, woodworking, and cooking
  barbecue for his loved ones; and
         WHEREAS, Although Bobby Moyers is deeply missed, memories of
  his warmth, his joyful spirit, and his devotion to his family remain
  to comfort and inspire those he left behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Bobby Ray Moyers
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Kay Moyers; to his children, Kevin Moyers and his wife, Vonda,
  and Connie Dougan and her husband, Kyle; to his grandchildren,
  Shauna Lyke and her husband, DJ, Wesley Moyers and his wife,
  Katherine, Caleb Moyers and his wife, Ariana, Keegan Moyers and his
  wife, Dusty, Justin Headen and his wife, Katie, Cayla Headen, Kylie
  Dougan, and Brayden Dougan; to his great-grandchildren, Shaun,
  Johnathon, James, Tanner, Cannon, Praislee, Fielder, Dawsyn,
  Bodie, Kylan, and Delilah Moyers and Jaxon, Cami, Aaron, and Joey
  Headen; to his sister, Ada Frost; and to his many other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Bobby Moyers.
