R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Cherished memories remain to comfort the family and
  friends of Carole Lynn Roxburgh of Tyler, who passed away on
  June 16, 2025, at the age of 76; and
         WHEREAS, A Tyler native, the former Carole Smyrl was born on
  March 1, 1949, to Harold and Hazel Smyrl, and she grew up with the
  companionship of two siblings, Brenda and Bryan; while attending
  school, she pursued her interest in music by participating in choir
  and learning to play the piano, and she also taught Sunday school at
  her church; after graduating from John Tyler High School in 1967,
  she continued her studies at Tyler Junior College; on August 21,
  1970, she exchanged wedding vows with Clint Roxburgh, beginning a
  rewarding marriage that ultimately spanned five and a half decades;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Roxburgh resided for a time in Dallas
  and Denton before settling in Tyler in 1978; there, they welcomed
  the arrival of two children, Christie and Kevin; Mrs. Roxburgh
  devoted herself full-time to her role as a mother, and later in
  life, she delighted in seeing her family grow to include five
  grandchildren, Kaytlenn, Austin, Corbin, Trenton, and Ruby, and
  three great-grandchildren, Kinslee, Whitlee, and Myla; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Roxburgh was sustained by her strong faith
  throughout her life; a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, she
  participated in mission trips to spread the gospel in Russia,
  Ukraine, Cuba, Germany, and other countries, and she taught the
  church's international Sunday school class for nearly two decades;
  her desire to help those in need was also demonstrated through her
  volunteer work at the East Texas Chest Hospital, and she was the
  author of two books, To Know Him Is To Know His Names: Names of God
  and Throw Down Your Stones: A Walk of Obedience and Sacrifice; and
         WHEREAS, Carole Roxburgh lived a rich and purposeful life
  centered around her family and her faith, and she will forever be
  remembered with deep affection by all who were fortunate enough to
  know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Carole Lynn
  Roxburgh and extend heartfelt sympathy to her loved ones; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Carole Roxburgh.
