R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close with the passing of Dewey William McClain of Lone Star on
  July 24, 2025, at the age of 91; and
         WHEREAS, Dewey McClain was born in 1934, and he grew up with
  the companionship of four sisters, Loraine, Irene, Aletha, and
  Polly; answering his nation's call to duty, he enlisted in the
  United States Marine Corps; and
         WHEREAS, Following his military service, Mr. McClain
  embarked on a career at Lone Star Steel that spanned four decades;
  he also served as Justice of the Peace for Morris County for 24
  years; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. McClain benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, Diane, with whom he shared 42 years
  before her passing in 2012; he took great pride in their children,
  Kim, Micheal, and Brad, and he had the pleasure of seeing his
  treasured family grow to include 13 grandchildren and 18
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A man of faith, Mr. McClain was a lifelong member of
  the Daingerfield Church of Christ; in his leisure hours, he enjoyed
  hunting, camping, and fishing; he was at his happiest when he was
  spending time with his family in the outdoors; and
         WHEREAS, Although Dewey McClain will be deeply missed, he has
  left his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will forever
  treasure; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Dewey William
  "Bill" McClain and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his children, Kim Hawkins, Micheal McClain and his wife,
  Tina, and Brad McClain and his wife, Brianna; to his grandchildren,
  Jonathan, Santos, Amanda, Alissa, Ryan, Andrew, Lainey, Tristan,
  Charley, Carley, Tatum, and Addison; to his great-grandchildren,
  Fiona, Emily, Baylor, Hadley, Penelope, Eleanor, Charlotte,
  Quentin, Maude, Beau, Hezekiah, Nezryn, Maisyn, Eli, Maddox,
  Peyton, Scotty, and Billy; and to his other relatives and friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Dewey McClain.
