R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
  passing of Anthony Lynn Shumake of De Kalb on May 15, 2025, at the
  age of 62; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Lynn and Wilene Shumake, Tony Shumake was
  born on July 6, 1962, and he grew up with the companionship of two
  siblings, Wade and Jana; in all his endeavors, he benefited from the
  love and support of his wife, Barbara, with whom he shared a
  rewarding marriage that spanned nearly four and a half decades; he
  took great pride in his two daughters, Lacey and Kelsey, and he
  carried with him the memory of his two cherished sons, Timothy and
  Nick, who preceded their father in death; over the years, he had the
  pleasure of welcoming into his family five grandchildren, Jalena,
  Hanna, Livia, Hayden, and Kaylynn; and
         WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Shumake was a dedicated
  member and deacon of Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church; he
  was known for his playful spirit and mischievous sense of humor, and
  he enjoyed entertaining others with his jokes and pranks; and
         WHEREAS, Although Tony Shumake is greatly missed, he has left
  his family and friends with many cherished memories, and he will
  forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Anthony Lynn
  Shumake and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Barbara Shumake; to his daughters, Lacey
  Mullins and her husband, Trey, and Kelsey McDermott and her
  husband, Levi; to his grandchildren, Jalena, Livia, and Kaylynn
  McDermott and Hanna and Hayden Mullins; to his brother, Wade
  Shumake, and his wife, Debbie; to his sister, Jana Ford, and her
  husband, Mike; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Tony Shumake.
