R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |
|
|
passing of Anthony Lynn Shumake of De Kalb on May 15, 2025, at the |
|
|
age of 62; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Lynn and Wilene Shumake, Tony Shumake was |
|
|
born on July 6, 1962, and he grew up with the companionship of two |
|
|
siblings, Wade and Jana; in all his endeavors, he benefited from the |
|
|
love and support of his wife, Barbara, with whom he shared a |
|
|
rewarding marriage that spanned nearly four and a half decades; he |
|
|
took great pride in his two daughters, Lacey and Kelsey, and he |
|
|
carried with him the memory of his two cherished sons, Timothy and |
|
|
Nick, who preceded their father in death; over the years, he had the |
|
|
pleasure of welcoming into his family five grandchildren, Jalena, |
|
|
Hanna, Livia, Hayden, and Kaylynn; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Shumake was a dedicated |
|
|
member and deacon of Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church; he |
|
|
was known for his playful spirit and mischievous sense of humor, and |
|
|
he enjoyed entertaining others with his jokes and pranks; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Tony Shumake is greatly missed, he has left |
|
|
his family and friends with many cherished memories, and he will |
|
|
forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st |
|
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Anthony Lynn |
|
|
Shumake and extend sincere condolences to the members of his |
|
|
family: to his wife, Barbara Shumake; to his daughters, Lacey |
|
|
Mullins and her husband, Trey, and Kelsey McDermott and her |
|
|
husband, Levi; to his grandchildren, Jalena, Livia, and Kaylynn |
|
|
McDermott and Hanna and Hayden Mullins; to his brother, Wade |
|
|
Shumake, and his wife, Debbie; to his sister, Jana Ford, and her |
|
|
husband, Mike; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
|
day, it do so in memory of Tony Shumake. |
