R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort |
|
those saddened by the death of Marsha Sue Lester of Tyler on June 7, |
|
2025, at the age of 83; and |
|
WHEREAS, The former Marsha Morgan was born to Bruno and |
|
Maurine Morgan on January 2, 1942, in Corpus Christi, and she grew |
|
up sharing in the companionship of an older sister, Nancy; a |
|
graduate of W. B. Ray High School, she attended cosmetology school |
|
on a scholarship and went on to spend several years working for a |
|
beauty shop in Lichtenstein's Department Store; and |
|
WHEREAS, One day at the store, she met her future husband, Ben |
|
Lester, and the couple married six months later on September 19, |
|
1964; in the course of a rewarding union that spanned nearly 61 |
|
years, the couple created a fine family that included their three |
|
sons, Andrew, Aaron, and Arick, five grandsons, one granddaughter, |
|
and one great-grandson; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
|
time will never diminish the joy and love that Marsha Lester brought |
|
into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 89th Texas Legislature, 1st |
|
Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Marsha Sue |
|
Lester and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Marsha Lester. |
