Amend Amendment No. 1 by Shaheen to HB 18 as follows:
(1) On page 2, line 7, strike "Notwithstanding any other law," and substitute "(a) Except as provided by Subsection (b),".
(2) On page 2, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following:
(b) This section does not apply to a person during the period beginning on the date the person files an application for a place on the ballot, makes an application for nomination by convention, or makes a declaration of write-in candidacy, and ending on election day of the primary or general election, as applicable, at which voters may vote for the person.
